FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

YOUR TRIP

Q: WHAT TIME DO TRIPS DEPART?
Morning and All Day Cruise - Depart 10am, Afternoon Cruise - Depart 2.30pm
Sunset Cruise - Times vary depending on the time of the sunset, usually between 7pm – 8pm
Adventure Trips - Departures on various days, usually in the morning. We have some afternoon/evening departures depending on the destination
Mile Building Trips - Departures on various days, usually in the morning. We have some afternoon/evening departures depending on the destination

Q: DO I NEED ANY SAILING EXPERIENCE?
For Day Trips, Charters and Adventure Sailing Trips no experience is necessary. The yacht is crewed by Jon and Karen, your skipper and first mate, they are there to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. You can simply relax on deck enjoying the scenery or they can show you the ropes and you can have a go at sailing yourself.
If you are booking a Mile Building Trip experience is required up to Competent Crew level or equivalent.
Q: WHERE DO YOU SAIL?
All trips leave from our marina base in San Pedro del Pinatar.
Depending on the length of your trip we sail along the Mediterranean coast either north towards Cabo Roig or south past La Manga to Isla Grosa or the beautiful bay of Cabo de Palos. We can also also cruise the Mar Menor, a large Saltwater lagoon just south of San Pedro del Pinatar, and visit some of the many islands there.

We also have longer trips to Tabarca Island, Cartagena, La Azohia, Gibraltar and the Balearics.
Q: CAN WE CHOOSE WHERE WE SAIL TO?
For Half day and Sunset trips - the route is decided in advance depending on the weather on the day.
Full Day Trips - there can be some flexibility depending on the amount of wind on the day.
Adventure Trips - The route and destination are set in advance but as these trips are longer than 1 day there maybe some flexibility depending on the weather.
Mile Building Trips - The destination is set but can vary depending on the weather. Route planning will be done by you and the crew as part of your trip.
Bespoke Charters - The destination and route are agreed in advance. The only considerations are the weather forecasts and wind direction. Bespoke charter trips are tailored for you.
Q: WILL THERE BE TIME TO SWIM AND SNORKEL?
Yes, we will plan your trip with plenty of time for snorkelling and swimming.
Q: WILL I GET SEA SICK?
Probably not, but our skippers can help you with any worries and techniques to overcome this condition if you do begin to feel a bit queasy. If you think you may experience sea sickness we advise taking a travel sickness tablet 1-2 hours before your trip.
Q: WHAT IF THERE IS NO WIND?
A sailing yacht is designed to be at its best when moving through the water, powered only by wind, so wherever possible we will hoist the sails, switch off the engine and sail to our destination. However, we are always mindful of the time and your itinerary so if there are light winds, where necessary we will motor instead of sail to our destination.
Q: WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF MY TRIP?
We are blessed with over 320 days of sunshine in south east Spain so it is very rare that trips are affected by the weather. However, in the event that the forecast is bad for the day of your trip we will contact you with as much notice as possible.

We are mindful that you may have limited time to fit everything in when you are on holiday but we will do our best to rearrange your trip for another day that suits you. In the unlikely event that this just isn't possible we will refund you in full.
Q: I HAVE BOOKED A DAY TRIP, WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
All you need to bring is sun block, sunglasses, your camera and a towel, if you would like to go in the water.
Outside of the summer months you may want to bring warm layers.
There is no shade on the boat so you may want to bring a sunhat
Please wear soft non-slip, non-marking shoes if you want your feet covered. Generally most people wear flip flops or go barefoot.

Unless otherwise stated all of your drinks are included in your trip. Included food varies depending on the type of trip:
Half day trip includes light tapas.
Full day trip includes snacks and lunch.
Longer trips include breakfast and dinner onboard.
(Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party has a food allergy or dietary requirement)
Q: I HAVE BOOKED A LONGER TRIP OR MILE BUILDING TRIP, WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
The yacht is fully equipped with life jackets and all the latest safety & navigation equipment including GPS, Radar & AIS.

We will advise you of the expected weather conditions prior to your arrival, but normally light clothing of t-shirts & shorts is all that is required. Please bring long trousers and a warm top for evening and night sails. Don’t forget your swimming gear.

Please ensure that you bring non-slip, non marking shoes that protect your toes whilst we are at sea, such as deck shoes or trainers. You may also wish to bring a pair of fingerless gloves to protect your hands whilst handling lines.

Please pack everything into a soft holdall bag rather than a hard sided suitcase for ease of stowage.

Don't forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and camera!

If you are booked for an overnight cruise or mile building trip you will be assigned a berth on arrival.
You are provided with bed linen appropriate for the time of year and a towel.
Q: CAN I SHOWER ON THE YACHT?
